Melody Bar – 106 French Street, New Brunswick N.J. Opened in the 1940’s, new music format came in 1980, torn down 2001. Truly world famous and the center of New Brunswick’s legendary music scene for decades, The Melody (as everyone calls it) has attained mythical status. The place where MTV 120 minutes host Matt Pinfield was a deejay for more than 10 years and hosted some MTV shows from, the Melody had the smallest dance floor with the most amazing music anywhere. People came from far and wide to visit the Melody, and it wasn’t unusual for bands like The Wonder Stuff to drop by when they were in town. There is too much to say for this space; there are books in the works. The Melody holds an annual reunion in New Brunswick every year for those who were there.
This shirt features an exact reproduction of the Melody logo from the sign that hung outside the venue for two decades.
