Pier Platters Records 56 Newark Street, Hoboken, N.J. was one of those great, small hole-in-the wall record stores that music fans always hoped to find. Located just a few blocks from Hoboken’s commuter hub, and right where the Ferry to New York City (just across the river) used to sail from, it was a treasure trove of music not easily available in those pre-Internet times. With occaisonal in-store performances from artists like Daniel Johnson, it succombed to economic forces many years ago after it’s 1980’s heyday.

The Cowtail Bar – Evesham and Sprigdale Road, Cherry Hill, N.J. Was a dairy farm opened in 1933 as the Holly Ravine Farm. Immensely popular with both adults and kids, The Cowtail Bar was added as an ice cream parlor retaurant on the farm that featured ice cream made from the farm’s milk. It was common for parents to take their kids to tour the farm and dairy barn, and then have ice cream made right in the Cowtail Bar. The entire farm was closed and sold in 1987. A shopping center now stands where this local landmark once stood.

The shirt is made with the original logo design seen on milk bottles and other containers for decades.

The Hot Club, Philadelphia, Pa. opened in 1977 as a jazz venue but soon became Philly’s first New Wave and Punk music venue. During its heyday it served as the location of early local performances from Elvis Costello, Iggy Pop amd Buzzcocks. The club closed in 1980.
